Radiohead shares enigmatic seasonal greeting cards

Radiohead is spreading holiday cheer with a series of typically cryptic digital greeting cards via their online “public library”.

Fans can customize their own card to send to friends, with a drop-down menu offering a number of apocalyptic phrases, including ‘EVERYTHING IS PINK’, ‘INSTEAD OF EMPTINESS’, ‘SUNLIT UPLANDS STILL AWAIT’, among others . Each card is accompanied by artwork by band artist Stanley Donwood.

The group also noted that no data will be stored when using its digital map creation tool.

“THIS PARTY CARD IS YOURS TO MAKE AND SEND TO NEW AND OLD KNOWLEDGE,” reads their website.

“ANY DATA PLACED ON IT WILL NOT BE STORED BY RADIOHEAD. PLEASE DON’T RUN. IT’S STILL A LIBRARY.

In a holiday message to fans, guitarist Jonny Greenwood wrote: “Right now I just feel this: I hope you are all safe and not too scared or too bored. I hope also that somehow we will soon be able to make music for you, and that the pleasure of making music and hearing music, whether in a concert, a concert hall, in church or at home with friends, be not forgotten in this desolation.

You can create your own digital map and share them via a custom link on the Radiohead Public Library website.
