From adding a range of new benefits, to increasing the introductory bonus and raising the annual fee to $695 (see pricing), Amex has done a lot of tinkering with The Platinum Card® of American Express over the past year.

And now there’s yet another change to this iconic map. Amex has rolled out two new card designs, and they are available for new and existing cardholders in addition to the classic card style.

The new designs were created by renowned artists, Julie Mehretu and Kehinde Wiley, as part of Amex’s Art x Platinum collaboration. Both artists have previously participated in the Studio Museum of Harlem’s prestigious Artist-in-Residence program, to which American Express recently committed $1 million in sponsorship.

New cardholders can select one of the new designs when they apply for the card – or they can choose the traditional style if they prefer.

The Platinum x Kehinde Wiley design features a botanical theme, while the Platinum x Julie Mehretu card is more abstract. Both designs are bold, sure, but if you’re looking to add a bit of flair to your wallet, they’re definitely a unique option.
